Problem with a joystick

I hope no one gets mad. This is a bit of a double post because I already asked the question in troubleshooting but with no answer I thought I'd try it here.
I got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick and plugged it in to play with Artemis. It worked fantastically for a half hour or so before it just stopped working. We tried using it again on a different machine and got the same issue.

Does anyone know why it would just stop working?
