Escaping/Evading/Destroying Missiles

posted May 19, 2013 08:01:48 by WilliamMyers
Finally had my first gaming night of Artemis last week, 5 1/2 hours of Artemis goodness. There was only one problem we kept having. It seemed like everytime enemy ships fired missiles at us... they'd follow us forever, until they hit us. We shouldn't seem to destroy them, and they never seemed to give up... eventually we'd just turn our best shield facing and took the hit, time and time again.

How do you escape, evade or destroy missiles?

Thanks!

Your weapons officer can target missiles fired by Torgoth vessels. Select them like a normal target and your primary beams will fire and destroy them if the missile is within your beam arcs. Blast weapons detonating near by can also destroy the missiles, however the missile itself will not detonate a blast weapon (mines or nukes) as I recall. If you do not destroy them, they will continue to follow you forever; they are relentless! I can't recall whether they are vulnerable to the gravitational effects of blackholes.

You can also run them into asteroids ;)
