Internet Connection Issues

Hi guys,

Me and a friend have been trying to run the demo over the internet but the only system that can connect is my desktop PC running Win8 to my laptop running Win7, the other way around will not connect and my mate just can't connect to anything. I've tried port forwarding, Hamachi and screaming at it but nothing seems to make any odds. I've looked at various posts here but can't seem to get it to connect.

Short of getting 100 miles of Ethernet cable, has anyone got any help they can offer as this would be amazing to try out as I am almost certain to get this in full later on.
