BSG mod ver.12.8.9

Here is the most current version of the BSG mod for Artemis, 1st I would like to give special thanks and credit to Brian Stamper for writing the installer code used for the mod installer. With this version it is no longer necessary for the batch run program or file. This is a self-installing program. It also comes with an uninstaller that will return Artemis to its original state.

Installation steps:

1. If you already have the mod downloaded and have new missions built for the mod you will have to move them to another folder outside of Artemis you can always place your missions back into the mission folder after you install this version.

2. Make sure Artemis is restored to its original state.

3. Download this version and follow the instruction on the installer.

I am hoping this version will make it easier for all of you to download and play this mode. So you can have more time to play the game instead of trying to figure out how to get everything working.

A Little about the Mod there are 8 races and 65 vessels on the vesseldata.xml. This will allow for some interesting scripting. All races that are already in the Artemis world are on here too. I add the colonial and cylon race the colonial race being the player race in this module. The player vessels are the Battlestar Galactica Class, Battlestar Mercury Class, Battlestar Valkyrie Class, Gunstar Berzerk Class, Gunstar Cygnus Class and The Heavy Cruiser Defender Class.

Missions: Venegence : A training mission. Aios: Protect our mines. Prolmar: System Patrol
Attract mode: Made by Mike but edited for this module. Trails of Deneb 01, 02 and 03 A Thom original

That is strange, You shouldn't have to put the BSG_Mod.exe in the folder it should install the mod to artemis dat folder and create a BSG_MOD folder in the dat folder it should also back up the artemis info so when you uninstall it it will put Artemis back to it Original state.

Install worked like a charm thanks!

I love this mod. Me and my friends played last night for about 4 hours and had a blast. I cant wait for more missions. So for the invasion mode that's not supported at the moment right?

Nick that is correct the invasion mod is not supported as of yet. I am currently working on Missions that support the GM station. The missions will allow you to determine when to launch your squadrons there are 4 Viper sqd and 1 heavy raptor sqd also has a recon raptor which can do jumps any where on the map, 2 Shuttles and a CAP (combat air patrol). All via the GM Station (Tactical) Here is a look at the Tactical Station Key list.

m- Will Jump any Allied (neutral)ship to anywhere you need it on the map (need Back Up)

The Squadrons have limited fuel so when the fuel starts to run low the squadron will return to the capital ship to refuel.

So whom ever your tactical officer (GM station) is he or she will have to work well with the comms officer because the comms office will have to direct the squadrons to the fight or were ever you need them.

The installer uses the registry key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Artemis.exe" to locate the Artemis folder. I have tested this on my Win 7 x64 box and several 32 bit boxes (xp and vista). I'm not sure why this registry key wouldn't exist for you if you used the standard Artemis installer. If you're comfortable looking I'd be interested to know where the key is on your box, if anywhere.

thanks, that what I needed to know. I re-created the Regkey you were looking for, and now it worked.

FYI:
I had installed the Demo, then puchased and installed the full version.
Later on, I noticed that the Demo version was still showing in my Add/remove programs, and removed it.
(this is what likely deleted the Reg key).

The full version works fine itself, but your code coudn't find the regkey it was looking for.

Problem solved.

I am currently working on a multi system module. This module will start out with 26 systems that you can jump to (25 with in the Red Line 1 outside of the red line). You will be able to jump from system to system when you are ready all you have to do is close to under 2000k of a Nav Com station once you have reached 1999k of the NavCom you can have Tactical (GM station) press the J Key and you will jump from the system your in to the next system.

When you jump into a new system you will enter the new system with in 4000k of that systems nav com. The module starts in the Helios System and will take you through each system and then back to Helios. Each system will have missions to complete or you can move on to the next system remember you can"t go back to the last system you just left (one way trip). Also if there are any enemy ships in the current system you are in the nav com will not let you jump out so "kill them all".

This module will also make use of the GM station as a tactical station giving the abilities to launch vipers and other ships aboard your vessel and direct other vessel to your aide.

So far I have completed the system to system build and it works great, this was based on Tre-Chipman Sector to sector build for version 3.5 thanks again Tre. Most of the basic GM key are in place for the tactical station. I am working on building each system trying to make them as different as possible. Then I will start on each system missions the further from the home system more chance encounter with enemy races.

My future goal with this module is to create enough systems to completely reach Earth and back to Helios.

Is it possible to get another download mirror other than rapid share? I've been trying for a couple days now and the download keeps timing out. I know of several good ideas if you need to :)

Also, it may be a corrupted install, but on version 1.66 of artemis clicking "start game" will freeze the server using the default game settings.

Yer ditto looks like this MOD is knackered on 1.6 or Artemis, anyone know where to get a version of Artemis that does work with it?

Yeah there seems to be a problem with the jump drive with the new 1.66 version of Artemis while using the missions. The jump drive works fine in the invasion mode. The problem with that is the mod does not work with the invasion mod. I have been working on finding the problem and hoping Thom fixes the jump drive issue with mission soon.

Maybe I am being stupid here and missing something, but I have downloaded the https://rapidshare.com/files/73805159/BSGMod.exe file and installed it and then tried to run it. However, the furthest I can get is to the server and client screens. But when I pit the Start Game button, it locks up the whole computer and just plays the theme music over and over again. I have to task manager out of it to force it to quit. I have tried it over and over again but to no avail. Can someone advise me on how to run this mod? My crew really, really wants to use the BSG universe! Thanks!

Deane you for thank your interest in this mode can you tell me what version of Artemis you have and give me a detailed steps that you are using to start up the Sim. I like to remind you that this mod doesn't work with the invasion mode of the game. Only the user made missions will work with the game at this time.

Deane You are welcome, I built this mod because I have been a fan of BSG for many years. I watch BSG when it first was shown on the big screen and followed throw to RDM version. So I hope you enjoy playing as much as I enjoyed making it
